Do I need to buy Berner Oberland regional pass if I have already bought Swiss pass for 4 days

Welcome to the forum Suad! In most cases, it’s not economical to buy two different rail passes. A Swiss Pass already covers quite a lot in the Bernese Oberland. You can download the validity map from the Swiss Pass page to see where free and discounted traveling applies.

Hi Annika

I am visiting switzerland with my wife in Auguest.
Here is my plan for 4 days visit:

Day 1 
Arrive to Geneva airport and take train to Interlaken

Day 2 and day 3 stay at Interlaken to visit the following:

Schilthorn
Blausee lake
Trummelbach Water Falls
Aareschlucht and Reichenbach falls
Saint Beatus caves
Oeschinensee lake
Thun lake boat ride

Day 4 
Take Golden line train back to Geneva and to airport back home

Can you advise which Pass is best for my plan

Hi Suad,

The 4-day Swiss Pass is ideal for your itinerary. You don’t need any other pass. Most of your traveling is free with that pass, even the Lake Thun boat trip. You just need some entrance tickets (e.g. Blausee) and discounted tickets for mountain transport (e.g. Schilthorn). Suitable hotels for your stay are listed here.

Hi Suad,

You’re right. The Swiss Saver Pass is for two or more people traveling together. It’s exactly the same as the Swiss Pass. It’s just a bit cheaper. You get the Saver variant automatically if you order the pass for two people. Anyway, all information and purchase options for both the Saver and the regular pass are on the Swiss Pass page Annika linked to.

Will the Swiss pass cover my trip from interlaken ost all the way to Allmendhubel including the mountin train and cable car.

Hello Suad. The ride is for free up to Mürren and discounted by 50% up to Allmendhubel. Did you check the validity map I mentioned before? This allows you to find out what’s covered.
