A traveler with a Swiss Travel Pass is planning a week in Switzerland this May, focusing on the Jungfrau region including Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald, Wengen, and Interlaken. They're curious if the Bernese Oberland Pass would be beneficial for their 3-day stay, especially since the Swiss Travel Pass provides only limited discounts on excursions.

Key takeaways:
  • Consider getting the Bernese Oberland Pass for additional savings on cable cars and funiculars in the Jungfrau region.

Hi I already have the Swiss Travelpass which I will use extensively during my week in Switzerland during May including reserved seats on the Bernina Express and the Goldenpass Express. Is purchasing the Bernese Oberland Pass of benefit for spending up to 3 days in Jungfraujoch Grindelwald Wengen Interlaken region when using cable cars cog wheel trains and funiculars. The Swiss Travelpass only offers %25 to %50 discount on most of these excursions. All advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi 69zabnek,

I think it’s convenient to have the Berner Oberland Pass if you’re planning various excursions in the Jungfrau region and Bernese Oberland. If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, you can purchase the Berner Oberland Pass at a reduced rate. You can find the details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/regionalpassberneseoberland/price
