Hi Folks

I have accessed the Swiss Path which goes around Lake Lucerne and was wondering if anyone has walked any section of this and could suggest which is the best bit for scenery etc to walk so that I could combine the boat and a walk .

Interested in the following routes

Fluelen – Tellskapel

Can someone also tell me how well signposted this route is as I would like to avoid buying a map if it is clearly a case of following the shoreline as such.

You can surely get some kind of free map at the Tourist Info by Track #1 in Luzern Main Station.

By the way, SwissTopo offers a free map app (Swiss Map Mobile) on Google Playstore or the Apple store. Once you have the free map, you can purchase an add-on service shown here:

You probably won’t need the add-on for your your interest noted in this thread.

You might find the Switzerland Mobility App useful, too. It has a specific entry for trail #99 The Swiss Path ( Der Weg der Schweiz) … mine comes up in English. I have not dug into it to see what is there. There is definitely a detailed map. You can see that it would be extremely difficult to get lost. And, you’ll se pelntyof signs with the Weg der Schweiz Logo and trail #99 along the way.

Also the Switzerland Mobility web Site has a lot of detail:

As always your information proves valuable. Think we will hike from the far end of the lake depending on weather and time as only planned 2 days into the agenda in Luzern area. unsure of this area or to do Mt Rigi or I notice now that Mt Pilatus is covered with the Swiss Pass from 2017. Any advice.

Each of the options is very different.. You won’t do much hiking on Pilatus. Take a look at EllenS’ recent trip report:

Other images from various sources will show that there is not much space to walk around.

The Rigi has some pleasant trails. On a nice day, it is a pleasant walk from Rigi Kulm down to Rigi Staffelhohe, the out over the meadows to Känzeli (good views) and back to Rigi Kaltbad to pick up the train or cableway. It is quite different from Pilatus.
