Booking seats in advance on the Glacier Express
A traveler named Keely is planning a trip to Switzerland on November 5th and has bought a Swiss Rail Pass. She is trying to reserve seats for the Glacier Express but is confused because the website says reservations can only be made 93 days in advance, yet some seats appear booked for her dates.
- You can generally reserve seats for the Glacier Express 90 days prior to your trip, but resellers like Happy Rail may allow bookings earlier.
- If you book multiple seats together, you are usually assigned seats next to each other.
- To choose specific seats while reserving, you should book directly through the Glacier Express website.

Hi
We are travelling to Switzerland o 11/05/20. We have bought a Swiss Rail Pass for our trip. I am trying to reserve seats for our train trips. The Golden Pass line was easy. However the Glacier Express website says that you cannot reserve until 93 days before travel yet the seating plan shows seats already reserved for my dates. Is it possible to reserve them somewhere else?
Happy Rail allowed me to enter my dates & add a reservation to my basket but it didn’t seem to offer seat allocation? Does it give you the option after you hit the pay button?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
