Hi everyone. I’m travelling to Switzerland in 2 weeks and staying in Brig and Chur. I’m trying to find out how to see the Aletsch glacier but can’t work out trains and which cable car is operating.
Also where does the cable car go from at the Sunnegga funicular Zermatt?

    Hi Debbie,

Timetables for the Aletsch Arena mountain transport options can be found here:

Information for visiting one of the viewpoints, the Eggishorn, is here:

Re Sunnegga, do you mean the gondola to Blauherd? It is adjacent to the funicular mountain station at Sunnegga. You might find this information useful:

    Hope this helps!

    Hi GRJDebbie,

You can view the Aletsch Glacier from three viewing points – Riederalp – Hohfluh, Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn. From Brig, the closest would be Riederalp. I prefer the views from Bettmerhorn. Also, I enjoy walking through the charming village of Bettmeralp to get to the Bettmerhorn gondola. To get to Bettmerhorn from Brig, take the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn train to Betten (if you want to go to Riederalp, get down in Morel which is the station before Betten). In Betten, take the cable car to Bettemeralp , then walk to gondola station at the end of the villlage.

You can find further details here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/bettmerhorn/

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna
