Car parking options near Spiez train station

Short summary – read this first

Tim is planning a day trip to Zermatt and needs advice on all-day parking near Spiez train station. He arrives in Spiez before 8:00 AM and seeks information on parking options for about 12 hours. Several users respond with helpful tips about parking availability and costs.

Key takeaways:
  • There are 198 parking spots at Spiez train station that cost 16 CHF per day.
  • For convenience, there is also a multi-storey underground parking lot, which can be a bit tricky to find at first.
  • If the train station parking is full, consider parking outside the post office in nearby Aecshi Park and taking a bus to the station.

Could you please provide some guidance on all day parking close to Spiez train station. There seems to be limited parking just outside the station and we are looking to park the car for 12hrs or so for a day trip to Zermatt. We will hopefully be in Spiez before 8.00 in the morning. Early response would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks for any assistance.

    Tim

    Hi Lucas,

Thanks for your quick response, much appreciated. From the link it looks like there are more spaces than I had thought.

We have been in Switzerland just three days and we are already overwhelmed by the sights, scenery and helpfulness of the locals.

    Thanks

    Tim

The Swiss generally know how important tourism is to their economy and act accordingly. 🙂

I’ve always found them extremely knowledgeable and helpful as well!

    Hi there

We went to Speiz last year , its not very crowded as generally all the tourists stay at Interlaken or Lucern. Car parking was generally empty or has only 2-3 cars parked. Otherwise you can park outside post office in Aecshi Park and come to station by bus (just a 10 mins drive)

Well, i dont know cost of car park but can certainaly assure you that you will get a parking.

    Regards

    Nidhi

    Thanks for your response.

We went and parked there this morning. The car park is multi storey underground (built into the hill) and the entrance to the car park was not very clear and we missed it the first time going past the station so did a circuit and noticed it the second time. Undercover access to the station is good and yes there was plenty of parking. Cost for 9-10hrs was 10CHF. We will certainly use it again.

    Thanks

    Tim
