Hello,

I am in the process of purchasing two three day Jungfrau passes and wanted to clarify – on my order it says has the date 08/17/19 – Is there anywhere I can clarify that this is the date that my passes will take effect . In other words from August 17th 2019 through August 19th 2019.

Yes, normally the date you enter while purchasing is the start date of your pass. From that date on, your pass will be valid for three consecutive days, so August 17-19. You’ll find retailers (some of which offering vouchers that have to be redeemed, others offering e-passes) and further information at

Is your pass costing you $180 or $135. From what I have read you can’t get the discounted rate if you buy online. (you also have to be in possession of some type of rail pass – HFC, STP, etc.)

Hi pkerr! Not all online retailers at http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfrautravelpass/price offer the discounted rate for Swiss Travel Pass/Swiss Half Fare Card holders online yet, but this one does: https://www.viator.com /tours/Interlaken/3-6-Day-Jungfrau-Travel-Pass. You’ll have click “Check availability” and then select a number of travelers and a start date. A few offers will be displayed, and if you click “See more” under the first few, discounted prices for pass holders are listed as well.

You don’t have to own the Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card yet when ordering a discounted Jungfrau Travel Pass: as long as you can show both while traveling, it’s fine.

While we are on the subject of purchasing this pass… where do I buy one once I’m in Switzerland? Any Jungfrau area train station?

Ahh… way at the bottom it mentions buying at the station. If I might make a suggestions, emphasize somewhere on that page that if you buy at the station and have some type of travel card you get the 25% discount. Put those 2 statements together. From the viewpoint of a new traveler, it’s not very clear that this can be done. Thanks for the help.

Hi pkerr, the 25% discount for Swiss Travel Pass/Swiss Half Fare Card holders is mentioned right under “Discounts” at the top of http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfrautravelpass/price. This discount isn’t exclusive to buying at rail stations, as discussed in this topic. Some online retailers offer it too. Not all of them yet, but I expect this to change in the (near) future.

Correct.. that 25% is mentioned but it really isn’t clear on how to get it. All the sellers listed only show full price. and when you got to them, none of them mention the “deal”. The only one so far that I have seen is Viator. and even on their site it’s on a button you have to click to see it.

In order o make it really easy and clear for anyone to get this discount, why not have a note right where the 25% is mentioned explaining how to get it. Just my .02.
