Customs and immigration while leaving Switzerland
A traveler plans to spend 4 days in Switzerland before heading to Italy by train from Chur to Tirano. They are seeking information about exit customs and immigration requirements for Switzerland and whether they need to inform any Swiss authority about their exit.
- You generally do not need to inform Swiss authorities about your exit; travel usually just involves checking your visa at your entry and exit points.
- Make sure your Schengen visa is valid for both Switzerland and Italy, as you'll be traveling between these countries.
- Keep in mind that immigration checks may only occur at your points of entry and exit for the Schengen area.

I would be travelling to Italy after spending 4 days in Switzerland as a tourist. I am a indian citizen and have a Schengen tourist visa. I shall be spending 6 days in Italy and then return to India. I would be crossing over to Italy by train from Chur into Tirano.
What are the exit customs & immigration requirements of Switzerland and do I have to intimate my exit details to any swiss authority? If yes where is it to be done?
