Details and tips for attractions in Lucerne

Short summary – read this first

Jennyfer is planning her trip to Lucerne and is looking for advice on attractions to visit, including Old Town, Chapel Bridge, Lion Monument, and the Transport Museum. She wants to know if the entrance to the Transport Museum is included in the Swiss Travel Pass and is also seeking recommendations for boat routes on Lake Lucerne. Jennyfer is not interested in visiting the mountains during her stay.

Key takeaways:
  • You can enjoy free travel on Swiss public transport like trains, trams, and boats with the Swiss Travel Pass.
  • The Swiss Travel Pass offers discounts on mountain transportation and reduced entry to the Swiss Museum of Transport.
  • Consider taking a long paddle steamer trip on Lake Lucerne to Brunnen or Fluelen for a scenic experience.

    Hi,

Appreciate advice on the attractions in Lucerne.

    – Old town

    – Chapel Bridge

    – Lion Monument

    – Transport Museum – is the entrance fee inclusive in the Swiss Travel Pass?

    – Boat ride on Lake Lucerne – there are many stops from Lucerne. What route would you recommend?

    – Are there any other attractions in Lucerne? I dont plan to do the mountains.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,

    Jennyfer

I can’t remember from your other posts how long you are staying in the Luzern area (if you separate in your mind the city of Luzern and the wider area of the Luzern, there are many attractions. For a Lake Luzern (Vierwaldstaedtersee) trip you can take a long trip on a paddle steamer (to Brunnen or Fluelen) and come back quickly by trains to save time.
