in case of mountain trips, we recommend getting your tickets if you already see the weather forecast. The best is to buy it just 1 day in advance or on the same day, on the spot. The cogwheel train from Alpnachstad to the top of Pilatus won’t be operational until May 26. During this period you can travel to Pilatus via the cable car and gondola from Kriens. Lucerne to Kriens is just a short bus ride away. Option to purchase the Pilatus tickets online are available here: shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com/en/overview/excursion (select the half-fare option if you have a Swiss Half Fare Card).
