    Hi Right Person,

As you have discovered, there is a lot of conflicting information about whether or not the e-buses in Zermatt are free. Most of it is just out of date. I believe they have been free for the last couple of years.

Here are links to the official Zermatt website, and the e-Bus Zermatt website. On all sites, it is stated that use of the buses is free, so I think we can be confident that’s the case!

    Official Zermatt site

    https://www.zermatt.ch/en/arrival/Getting-around-the-village/Bushaltestellen/Bus-stops

“The use of the E-bus service is free of charge(This is the page you have already found.)

    https://www.zermatt.ch/en/arrival/Getting-around-the-village

“Go about Zermatt relaxed and unstressed. Those, who walk, have a true sense of a holiday. And if they want, they can also have second glass of wine at dinner without worrying. Because the automobile is far away and quite forgotten. If they do not want to walk, there is a cute eTaxi or the free eBus.”

    e-Bus Zermatt site

    Gültig vom 15.04.2024 bis 08.12.2024

    Fahrplanänderungen vorbehalten. E-Bus Gratis.

    Hope this clarifies things!
