Hi Lisadee,
You can use the Swiss railways timetable to find train options to Zurich airport – the train is indeed to easiest option for you.
Based on your other post this is June 16th you are talking about? According to the timetable you can be at Zurich airport as early as 06:13 if you like. And trains run regularly after that. Pick the departure that works best and if the train connects at Zurich main station be sure to pay attention to the connection time and the track numbers you arrive and depart on.
My suggestions for Zurich main station (it is huge) is to go into the advanced search function on the timetable and change the duration on transfer to at least 10 minutes.
Then search again. This gives you the following option:
Depart Lucerne at 06:35 track 6
Arrive Zurich main station at 07:25 track 10
Depart Zurich main station at 07:37 track 12
Arrive Zurich airport 07:47 track 2

Like Lucas mentioned, the earliest train leaves Lucerne at 04:55 and reaches Zurich airport at 06:13. There is no change of train in between. We have purchased these tickets for April 14 as our flight leaves Zurich at 09:35.

Don’t they have direct train from Luzern to ZRH?

Hi ravical04,
Direct trains leave every hour at ten minutes past the hour. The first one leaves at 07:10 and reaches the airport at 08:13. If that’s too late for you, you should take the 04:55 one as earlier mentioned, which is a direct train as well.

This is a particularly easy connection to make, as both platforms are on the main concourse at street level, and close to each other.
If you get as far as possible towards the front of the train (bearing in mind the front carriage might be first class), that will make it even easier: you can transfer to the next platform without changing levels.
If you’re further back in the train, you can either walk up to the end of the track at the front of the train, or go down one of the escalators or ramps along the platform and transfer platforms via the underpass.

Hi Lisadee,
Please select Zürich Flughafen and not the one with Kloten. That should work.

are they two different airrports?

No they are not. I understand it’s confusing. Flughafen means airport. So basically you’re selecting Zürich airport. I don’t think many people know the name of the airport.

can i use the eurorail 2 country pass, or the 4 day travel pass to the airport or is that its own ticket?
i tried checking the timeline for June 17th from Lucerne to Zurich airport -departing at 6am and it always goes back to June 16th . Ive tried it every which way and i still get june 16. Maybe they have a rule where you can only check a certain amount of time in advance?

Not sure if you this but I am confused about two passes Im considering. ( a 2 country eurorail pass) for Italy/Switzerland. and the 4 or 5 day travel pass. Do these passes work for the full DAY whether we switch trains, transfer or just go both way in one day? When they say 4 day – can i use it everywhere all day long as many times as i want?

It works on my computer. Not sure what’s going wrong. Maybe you can click manually ‘later connections’ which is a button on the top right of the schedule that is shown?

Do you mean the 4 or 5 day Swiss Travel Pass? Both passes work all day. The Swiss Travel Pass gives you more benefits when you’re planning to do a lot of activities in the mountain.
A clearly mapped out itinerary is the basis for deciding which pass suits. You should read our page on ‘How to choose the best rail pass’ (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass).
