Really looking forward to an extensive report. Thank you so much.

Are the windows in the new carriages non-reflective?

    Hello!

I was debating whether to book the Excellence class on the Glacier Express at the end of May, so do let me know your experience! I also read somewhere that there are planned changes and upgrades (including windows that open and anti-reflective panoramic windows) anticipated for 2020. Could you help confirm if this information is correct?

    Thank you!!

    Fantastic day.

If you can afford the excellence class, then go for it.

So much better than first class.

Sure the scenery is the same, but everything else makes it so much better.

You can access the open window of the door which is not accessible by any other carriage.

However excellence class is not on every train.

Took lots of photos, which I will share if I can.

I am wondering if some of the problems discussed with first class have been addressed with excellence class:

what info is on the tablet that each traveller gets?

what was the food like? We’re there any extra charges for drinks?

    What was the service like?

The carriages themselves have not changed

The carriages might not have changed but they have had a totally new fit out.

Pretty clear difference if you ask me.

It will be interesting to hear if all the negatives for first class have been met in the new excellence class. Judging by the sell out rate it seems as if the new excellence class is going to be popular.
