We made 2 first class seat reservation for May 2022. We did not add lunch reservation as there was no specific information about their menu. My question is:

    1. How to add lunch in the current seat reservation.

    2. Can we look at the menu and order 3 course lunch on board.

    3. In their main menu of meat, do they have chicken or turkey also or just red meat and pork.

    thanks for the information

    Msinhs

    Hi Msinha,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

No worries, you can make your lunch reservation on the Glacier Express by email. You can find the contact details from this link: http://www.glacierexpress.ch/en/travel-planning/gastronomy/

Menu options include chicken, meat and vegetarian. You can view the current menu here: http://www.glacierexpress.ch/fileadmin/user_upload/GEX/PDFs/GEX_Speisekarte_22.pdf

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna

I’ll be taking the Glacier Express from Zermatt to Pontresina in September 2023. Do I need reservations? How do I reserve a seat? I will have the Swiss Travel Pass, first class. Also, do I stay on the train at Chur? Or do I change to the Bernina Express at Chur? Any information would be most helpful. Thank you.

    Hi Jafaux,

I just answered some of these questions in your other post, please see this one: http://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/switzerland-by-rail-in-september-15-days

In short, you can reserve your seats here:

The route from Chur to St Moritz is the same for the two, so it depends on you, where you want to change. You can read more about the route (and also check on the map) here: http://www.myswissalps.com/berninaexpress/gettingthere and http://www.myswissalps.com/glacierexpress/gettingthere.

    I hope this helps,

Thank you, Ildiko, for all the good information, a lot to absorb. Looks like I have to get off the Glacier Express in St. Moritz and take a local train or bus to Pontresina. When continuing my trip from Pontresina to Lugano, I have go back to St. Moritz to catch the Bernina Express. Is this correct?

I have already purchased a 1st class seat reservation for the Glacier Express. How can I select seats?

    Hi Jafaux,

no, there is no need to go back to St Moritz.

The Bernina Express also stops in Pontresina, so you can get on the Bernina Express in Pontresina.

You travel by the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz. Then you go to Pontresina (it’s close to St. Moritz). In Pontresina you can hop on the Bernina Express and travel further to Lugano.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough in my previous answer.

    Hi Travelislife,

where have you bought your seat reservation for the Glacier Express?

If you already bought it, then it should be already chosen, I suppose.

The Glacier Express stops in St. Moritz. It does not travel further to Pontresina. So you need to get off and take the local train to Pontresina. It is just 9 min travel so they are really close to each other.

    Ildiko,

I bought my reservations from Happyrail. But I don’t know how or where to select seats.

    Hi travelislife,

If you made the seat reservations with Happy Rail, you should get an email from them once they have secured the seats. If you still have concerns, you should write to them and ask for a clarification.
