    Trying to get Glacier Express seat reservations and honestly it is a very stressful thing to do. I was all set up at the exact time I needed to be picked the seats, date and time I wanted, put in my credit card info and then a blank screen with the little wheel spinning round and round for 45 minutes now. Don’t know what to do. I tried calling Glacier Express but they’re closed.

    Update for those who might also have this trouble. I first used my desktop computer and that was when I was having trouble. After 50 minutes of waiting and nothing happening I tried two other seats on my phone and it finally went through. Phew hopefully I won’t get charged for two sets of seats.

    My sentiments too. It’s the most stressful thing I have had to go through planning  my month in Europe. The whole train pass and booking system is so confusing. On trip advisor forum it is full of questions on “ how to”.
    The most frustrating thing is that the tour groups are allowed to book up all the seats before it’s open to the public. So when it’s finally your turn at 12 mn it’s all booked out. The even more frustrating thing is that about 2 weeks before your date a whole lot of seats can be released  for tour cancellations. The system needs a total overhaul.

    Hi both!

    Good to hear your bookings were successful after all Denisephillbr. I understand it’s stressful, but let’s hope you’re all set now.

    The Glacier Express is very popular at the moment, and there’s simply more demand than there are available trains and seats. Maybe this is good to know Queenie: the booking system does not allow groups to book all seats first, and only then individual passengers. Rather, a fixed part of the seats is held back for groups and tour operators. Another fixed part is for individual travelers, and they can book by 1 am on 93 days before the travel date. Still, those seats too can be gone quickly, and I understand you’d be disappointed if you don’t succeed.
