Hi Blur29,
Welcome to MySwissAlps.
The Tomlishorn peak is always accessible for visitors to Mt Pilatus. Do take note that in November, the cable car from Kriens to Pilatus undergoes a maintenance break from 24 October to 4 November 2022. It operates year round (April to December) otherwise. Meanwhile the cogwheel train from Alpnachstad operates between 26 May to 20 November 2022.
regards,
Anna
Thanks Anna,
Just to confirm I am planning to go Mt. Pilatus probably on 28/29 Nov, so the only option is Bus to Kriens and Gondola and Aerial tramway to Mt Pilatus. Is that correct?
And is there any boat from Luzern to Vitznau on 28/29 Nov? I was looking at the timetable and the timetable given is only till 16 Oct.
Hi Blur29,
Yes, your best option to travel to Pilatus on that day is via the cable car from Kriens.
There are boat services from Lucerne to Vitznau running on 28 and 29 Nov. You can check boat schedules on the SBB timetable. Select advance mode to display only boat schedules.
Regards,
Anna
Thanks Anna
Appreciate your help. Was getting confused with all the maintenance dates.
Hi Blur29,
If you want to consult more operation dates, you can use the “Route” sections of our activity pages (http://www.myswissalps.com/activities). You can find operation dates and links to timetable overviews there, e.g.
Alternatively you can enter your journey and travel date in the Swiss timetable. It will automatically show the options available for that date: https://www.myswissalps.com/timetable.
