Horseback riding: Appenzell, Lucerne, Jungfrau, Montreux, Neuchâtel?
A family is planning their trip to Switzerland in August and wants to include horseback riding in their itinerary. They are experienced riders with a 9-year-old who rides regularly and are looking for trails near Appenzell, Bad Ragaz, Luzern, Wengen, and possibly Montreux or Neuchatel, but not the typical nose-to-butt style rides.
- Check local tourist offices for horseback riding recommendations tailored for families.
- Look for trails that allow more freedom for experienced riders, rather than standard conga line rides.
- Explore specific websites that list local riding opportunities, as they may have detailed options.

Hi, We are still finalizing our itinerary but looking to add horsebacking riding if possible. We are a family of experienced riders, but our youngest is 9 years old. Any recommendations of trail ride opportunities that are not just nose to butt and would allow a youth as young as 9 (who rides 2-3x week at home)?
Tentatively we are going to be in the Appenzell area, Bad Ragaz, Luzern, Wengen (and surrounding) and either Montreux and/or Neuchatal in August.
Thank you!
Thank you!
