How to get customer ID with Swiss Travel Pass

Short summary – read this first

Bhalke2008 has bought an 8-day consecutive Swiss Travel Pass and received a voucher via email. They are confused about registering and finding a customer ID for seat reservations, but are unsure how to proceed as Klook isn't providing clear answers.

Key takeaways:
  • You don't need to register or have a customer ID to use the Swiss Travel Pass.
  • The voucher you received can be exchanged for the actual Swiss Travel Pass at any staffed Swiss train station.
  • Seat reservations are generally not needed in Switzerland, making it easier to travel spontaneously.
  • For specific trains, check the links shared by others to reserve seats, as some require it.

    Hi Bhalke2008,

Thanks for joining MySwissAlps! You don’t need to register and you don’t need a customer ID. Normally you would receive the Swiss Travel Pass as a PDF document that you can print at home. If it’s actually a voucher, it should explain that you can exchange that for a Swiss Travel Pass, probably at any staffed Swiss train station. Please find all Swiss Travel Pass information here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass.

You don’t need seat reservations either, except from a few tourist trains. Even in those cases you don’t need a customer ID. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/reservations.

Note that SBB is a website geared to Swiss residents. You may see references to SwissPass, which is mainly for residents and does not apply to you: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/swisspass. You can look for train schedules on their website though. You’ll find that explained here: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable.

    Bhalke bhai,

No need to worry about seat reservation. Just having the pass is enough. Swiss isn’t as crowded as Indian Railways and we need not worry for confirmed/RAC/Waiting ticket. Enjoy…!!
