How do we get to Grindelwald First from Lauterbrunnen? On the SBB app, it says take the train from Lauterbrunnen to Zweilütschinen, then transfer train. Take the train that goes to Grindelwald. Then walk to the Grindelwald railway station to take the train from there to Grindelwald Firstbahn or bus or walk 20mins. Then take the gondola to Grindelwald First. Is this the fastest way to get there? Are there 2 different train stations in Grindelwald? Is there a direct train from Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald?

    Thank you in advance! 🙂

    Hi Cruzzero727,

All information in regard to reaching Grindelwald First can be found in the below link:

    * There is no direct train to Grindelwald from Lauterbrunnen, a change is required as you have researched at Zweilütschinen.

There are actually 3 train stations in Grindelwald. You can find each in the Swiss timetable at https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/public-transport/timetable/. Here’s a handy summary:

    1. “Grindelwald”. This is the main station in the village, where shops, hotels, and holiday homes can be found. Trains from Interlaken arrive here. From the station, you can reach the valley stations of First and Pfingstegg on foot or by bus. Buses to Bussalp, Grosse Scheidegg, the Rosenlaui Valley and Meiringen depart here too.
    2. “Grindelwald Terminal”. This is west of the town center. The gondolas to Männlichen and the Eiger Express to Eigergletscher/Jungfraujoch depart here.
    3. “Grindelwald Grund”. This station is situated lower than Grindelwald and it’s not in the town center. It’s one of the stops on the cogwheel train route from Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg/Jungfraujoch.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
