    Hi

My wife and I have purchased 8 day Swiss Travel Pass. We will be making a journey from Grindlewald to Geneva on 6th September. Will it be possible to travel by Golden Pass Railway between Interlaken and Montreaux ? If so how do we reserve our seats and we may possibly wish to upgrade to 1st class for this journey.

Secondly just needed confirmation that the pass is valid for all travels in Zurich and Geneva.

Hi Sudhir and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Yes, you can follow the Golden Pass route on your way to Geneva. You can pick it up in Interlaken and take it to Montreux via Zweisimmen. Use the timetable here to plan the train trip and find schedules and connections: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

You can see which routes are covered by the Swiss Travel Pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity – be sure to open the PDF map to see an overview.

You can make seat reservations on the Golden Pass route here: http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass/packages and if you reserve for 1st class you can buy a upgrade ticket at any rail station for that portion of the trip. Show your 2nd class Swiss Travel Pass and explain you have 1st class seats reserved on part of your trip to Geneva. They will sell you the correct upgrade ticket.
