Hi. We are two couples in our mid 60s. We are flying into Zurich around September 4, 2019 and want to visit the JungFrau region. We thought of going directly to Lucerne from the airport, spending 2 nights. Then spending two nights in Grindelwald or other town. Finally travel to Lugano and the Lakes region crossing into Italy. Spending five nights in this area before fliying back to US from Milan.

I wish we had more time to see more of Switzerland but Italy is important to my travel friends.

we want to travel by train so please consider that. If there are other ideas I’m ready to listen.

    Thanks for all our help.

    Hi Rvol64-

    <<“Grindelwald or other town.”>>

Each town in the region has pluses and minuses.

    I usually stay in Wengen:

This past September, I did so , but also went over to Grindelwald, up to First via the cableway, walked, came partway down, and stayed at Bort. I enjoyed the splendid views of the Eiger from Bort, but did not like Grindelwald at all. It is very commercial, and has lots of stores and restaurants, spread out over some distance. The views are certainly nice, but my own preference is for the views from Wengen. Wengen is smaller, more concentrated, and has less of a commercial feeling.

Others like Grindelwald. Luckily, you can choose.

    Slowpoke
