Jungfrau Travel Pass availability in April

Short summary – read this first

Bill is planning a trip to Wengen from April 10th to 13th and is confused about the availability of the Jungfrau Travel Pass. He needs clarification on what passes are available during his stay and where to purchase them.

Key takeaways:
  • For travel in April, consider the Jungfrau Corona Winter Pass, which includes access to Jungfraujoch and is available for 2 to 8 days, or the Jungfrau Hiking and Sledging Pass for up to 7 days.
  • The Jungfrau Corona Winter Pass should be purchased upon arrival in Interlaken for convenience, as it covers all transport in the Jungfrau region, including the journey to Jungfraujoch.
  • Check local rail company confirmations for the latest information as pass availability can vary.

I moving around this site, I have found information that would indicate the Jungfrau Travel Pass is available from April 2, 2022 or April 10, 2022 or May 2022 and when I hit the link to purchase the pass it appears I cannot purchase for travel before April 27th. We are booked in Wengen from April 10th to the 13th–will there be a pass available, if so, where can I purchase?

    Appreciate any help.

    Bill

Appreciate the help, but that link takes me to the 2021 pass page. That added to my confusion as it was the first that came up.

I’ve searched around the non English speaking web pages, which led me to this – Looks like the currently available pass is the Corona Pass:

    http://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/corona-pass-winter/

Then from April the ‘Top of Europe’ Pass seems to take over:

This looks like what I was searching for, THANKS! I have actually put in a lot of effort searching before asking–think I found the Corona Pass page in German, but couldn’t find the English version. I think this will make our time in Wengen well worthwhile.

Thank You. Will try to determine if there is a difference or advantage. I’ve got about 3 weeks before we leave for Europe to figure this out.

    Hi Bill,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

The Jungfrau Travel Pass is available for the summer season. For visits in winter between December and April, you have the option of getting the Jungfrau Corona Winter Pass or the Jungfrau Hiking and Sledging Pass.

Both offer unlimited or discounted rides on trains, cable cars and gondolas in the region. However the Jungfrau Corona Winter Pass includes trip to Jungfraujoch and is available for 2 to 8 days (or as season pass). The Jungfrau Hiking and Sledging Pass is available for 1 to 7 days and does not include trip to Jungfraujoch (but you can use this pass to get discounted travel to Jungfraujoch at CHF49 return).

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Great help! Thanks all.

Anna, your response saved me a lot of time. Can I just confirm–from both your reply and what I see on the site regarding the Corona Pass–the trip to Jungfraujoch is included at no additional charge (unless a seat reservation seems worth it).

Have been following your site for a while, been a great asset in planning our trip.

Bill- My wife and I are staying in Wengen starting April 9. After much research, and confirmation from the rail company, we are purchasing a 3-day Jungfrau Winter Corona Pass. It includes all transport in Jungfrau region including to Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe. Here is the link that they sent me:

    http://www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/jungfrau-corona-pass/

it is only available to end of April, when the other pass becomes available for purchase. The rail representative said we should just purchase the pass when we arrive (via rail) in Interlaken.

I’ve attached their map that shows coverage in the area.

Hope this helps! And thanks MySwissAlps.com for this forum.
