List of elevations of Swiss sites to visit?
Mike is planning his first solo trip back to Switzerland since 2021, after losing his partner. He needs advice on how to check the elevations of various destinations, as he cannot safely go above 2000 metres due to health reasons.
- Use the SchweizMobil website or app to find elevations of Swiss mountain tops easily.
- Most Swiss villages are below 2000 metres, so you can visit places like Grindelwald or Zermatt without worry.
- When traveling from St Moritz to Locarno, take the Maloja Pass instead of the Bernina for lower elevation.
- If you're concerned about heights, consider using the rail tunnel when traveling from Brig to Domodossola.

Hello. This is Mike and it is my first attempt at posting a question.
My Maggie died in 2021 and I have now decided to return to our beloved Switzerland for the first time on my own. I am at the planning stage but have been told that since I had a heart attack I cannot safely go above 2000 metres. Does anyone know of a single site where I can check out elevations so that I don’t have to go to every destination?
Mike
