Lucerne-Interlaken Express – both directions?
A traveler is planning a trip from Interlaken OST to Zurich and wants to know if the Luzern-Interlaken Express runs in reverse. They also have questions about sitting arrangements for the best views and traveling with luggage without needing to change trains at any stops.
- Sit on the right side of the train for the best views when traveling from Interlaken to Luzern.
- There's no need to change trains between Interlaken Ost and Luzern, but you will need to change at Luzern to get to Zurich.
- If you're traveling during peak times or with others, it's a good idea to reserve your seats ahead of time for the best window views.

Hi,
Does this run in reverse direction too? When i checked in SBB timetable – it shows Interlaken OST to Lucerne as well. I believe it would be the same as going from Lucerne – Interlaken only that we may need to sit on our left to see good views till we reach Meiringen – as per below link.

Another practical question, I will be with my luggage but I understand that there is no need to change trains so if I don’t get off at any stations – it should be ok? (I am travelling to Zurich from Interlaken OST)
