We’ve taken the Luzern-Interlaken Express route several times in the last 5 years in 1st class. We’ve found the right side of the train offers better views between Luzern & Brunig Pass and on to Meiringen. The train reverses direction between Meiringen & Interlaken Ost. But since 1st class isn’t usually crowded, you can basically take whatever seat on whatever side of the train you want. At least that was our experience in September/October. We’ve never made any seat reservations.
