    Hi,

My family and I are planning to visit Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and after that walk the Matterhorn Glacier Trail. However, I can’t find which tickets we have to buy. First I was looking at the return tickets Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, but this probably doesn’t work as we return to Zermatt from Schwarzsee. Then I was looking for individual tickets for each leg, but I can’t find how much is a single trip from Matterhorn Glacier Paradise to Tröckener Steg.

Does anybody know which ticket we have to buy and how much that costs?

PS We have a half fare card and our kids travel for free with the Swiss Family Pass.

    Thank you!!

    Hi Manon,

You can purchase a combo hiking ticket for the Matterhorn Glacier Trail. The  ticket includes one trip from Zermatt to Trockener Steg and one from Schwarzsee to Zermatt for the return journey. The ticket costs CHF38.50 if you have a Swiss Travel Pass/ Swiss Half Fare Card. If you want to go all the way up, you can purchase a return ticket Trockerner Steg – Klein Matterhorn.

You can buy the combo ticket online from the official Matterhorn Paradise website. You can find the link here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/matterhorn/ (scroll to the bottom for Other Websites of Interest).

    Regards,

    Anna

Thank you Anna, that is a really good idea! Do you know where I can find the price of the return ticket Kleine Matterhorn – Tröckener Steg? And does this ticket also include the admission to the Glacier Palace and the cinema lounge?

    Regards, Manon

Anna, another question. Above you mention that I can order the combo ticket online. But I understood from a previous reply from you that I have to buy discounted tickets at the ticket counter or sales points in Zermatt, because I can only load tickets with a swiss pass. (we will only have a halffare card).

Last year I had the SBB app on my phone because of my half fare card and I could buy tickets in the SBB app.

I am sorry if I misunderstand! Of course my preference would be to buy tickets online/ in an app so I can skip the lines.
