Missing a train with regular Swiss train ticket
A traveler is planning to purchase a Swiss Travel Pass for eight days in Switzerland and needs advice about buying a one-way ticket from Zurich Flughafen to Lucerne for their first day. They are concerned about making a tight connection at Zurich HB and want to know the best travel options available to avoid missing their train.
- Purchase your one-way ticket at the Zurich airport railway station using the ticket machines which are easy to operate.
- There are direct trains from Zurich Flughafen to Lucerne, departing at xx.15 past each hour, so check the schedule to find the next one.
- If you miss your planned train, you can catch any later train that day without a need for a Supersaver ticket.
- Take advantage of the food court at Zurich HB to relax if you have to wait for a connection.

I will be purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass for my last 8 days in Switzerland but need to buy a one way ticket from Zurich Flughofen to Lucerne for my first day. Looks I may need to transfer at Zurich HB and have only like 8 minutes to find the next train on my ticket. If I miss the ticketed train, I can take a later train with the same ticket
