I am not sure what you mean by mid-range, but we have booked the Hotel Suisse-Majestic, which is a Marriott. It is four star, and by Swiss standards it is not too ridiculously expensive. It is directly opposite the station.

Thanks all. The links and and recommendation were very helpful. Another question, we are having a difficult time finding a place in Luzern in mid September. Everything I inquire about is full, no availability. Does anyone have any recommendations for a 3 night stay near Luzern, then we can just take a train into the city for the day. Or if there is a different area anyone could recommend please do. We have Luzern planned as our last stop in Switzerland. Places we’ll have already been are, St. Moritz, Zermatt, Montreux, and Grindelwald.
