Do I need a Mt Titlis kids ticket if I have a Swiss Travel Pass?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Shalini is planning an 8-day trip to Switzerland in May with her two kids aged 8 and 14. She’s looking for advice on whether she needs to purchase a separate Children's Co-Travelcard or if the Swiss Travel Pass's benefits cover her children, especially for gondola rides in Titlis and the cost for a Fondue experience at SnowXPark Trubsee.

Key takeaways:
  • To get a Swiss Family Card for free, request it when purchasing the Swiss Travel Pass, allowing kids under 16 to travel free of charge with a parent holding the pass.
  • For the Fondue experience at SnowXPark Trubsee, you need to buy separate tickets for each person; sharing may not be allowed.
  • The Swiss Travel Pass covers various transportation options, making it more convenient and potentially cheaper for your travels across Switzerland.

Yes I see Switzerland dont have dynamic pricing either for Travel Pass or any Mountains tickets.
What about trains ? Is the price is higher when u book just the morning you have to travel ?

The ordinary point-to-point single fares stay the same, whether you buy just before you travel, or buy them advance.   There are however Saver Day Passes which have to be bought in advance and are non-refundable.  These are popular with tourists, including some very knowledgeable contributors to this forum.  Details of SDPs are in the ‘Rail Passes’ section of this website, so I will not repeat them here.

There are also ‘Saver’ point-to-point tickets, which have to be bought in advance and (of course) are non-refundable.

    Kind regards

Guys, need one more help, If I buy Swiss Travel Pass from Agoda , do I need to add it in SBB App or simply take a printout and keep a softcopy pdf in phone ?
What about kids ? I dont see in Agoda portal any option of Free Family pass, but Klook has this option to add a 0 Fee Family card when buying an adult card.
    Please Guide.

    Thanks

    Hi Shalini,

Agoda is a hotel booking site. Do they sell the Swiss Travel Pass too? Anyway, I’d recommend booking from one of the websites listed here: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/#tickets. They are all trustworthy.

Most websites offer the Swiss Family Card, the official website does too: https://www.myswissalps.com/link/stc-swiss-travel-pass/.

You don’t need apps. The Swiss Travel Pass is a PDF document. You need nothing else. You’ll find it explained on our Swiss Travel Pass page: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/

    Enjoy your trips!

    Hi Shalini,

I’m not sure how it works on the Agoda platform. But when you purchase the Swiss Travel Pass, you will need to enter travellers’ details and age. If you have children 6 – 15 years old, you will have the option to request for a Swiss Family Card.

You can find the link with a list of reliable point of sales in Arno’s post.

    Regards,
    Anna

I don’t know about Agoda, but Klook is in our list of safe links too. Please go here: https://www.klook.com/activity/11366-swiss-travel-rail-pass/, then in the box “Child: Swiss Family Card, must travel with adult(6-15)“, fill out the number of children. That will get you the free Swiss Family Card.

    Hi Shalini,

Usually the Swiss Family Card will be issued together with your Swiss Travel Pass.
