Route from Murren to Top of Europe in June
A traveler is planning a vacation in Murren in June and wants to visit Jungfraujoch, asking about the best route and cost estimates. They plan to purchase the 8-day Swiss Travel Pass but are unsure which transport modes it covers for their trip to the Top of Europe.
- The Swiss Travel Pass covers the route from Murren to Lauterbrunnen and Wengen entirely without additional charge.
- To reach Jungfraujoch, expect to pay the full fare for the final leg but receive a 25% discount with the Swiss Travel Pass.
- Check the validity map for the Swiss Travel Pass to clarify what is covered during your journey.
- Consider calculating your travel expenses as other passes, like the Swiss Half Fare Card or Bernese Oberland Pass, might be more economical based on your itinerary.

We’re vacationing in Murren in June 2019 and would like to do the Jungfrau Top of Europe and had questions about the best route and estimated costs. We plan to purchase the 8 day Swiss Travel Pass which appears to cover certain rail, bus, boat transportation and discounts on cable cars, but it’s not clear what modes of transportation would be needed for the trip and which parts would be covered by our Swiss travel pass and which wouldn’t. Could you provide info on a good route for this trip and an estimate of what the various sections would cost including the cost for the pass for the Top of Europe. This may seem obvious if you’ve traveled in Switzerland before, but having never been there before it’s difficult to piece together the various modes of transportation and which portions are covered, which ones are not, and which ones might be eligible for a discount with the Swiss Travel Pass
