Night activities in Swiss

Short summary – read this first

Shane is spending 3 nights in Grindelwald and 2 nights in Lucerne from late December to early January and wants to know what to do after sunset. With only about 8-9 hours of daytime, Shane is looking for evening activities during this period. Suggestions for evening plans in these areas would be appreciated.

Key takeaways:
  • Expect limited nightlife options in Switzerland; most activities are indoors and start early.
  • Dining is a popular evening activity; consider local restaurants to experience Swiss cuisine.
  • In winter, cozy bars or cafes are good places to relax after dark.
  • Look for festive events or holiday markets that may be available during the winter season.

    Hi all,

On 27dec to 2jan, I would be staying in Grindelwald for 3 nights and Lucerne for 2 nights. I’m aware that daytime only last around 8-9 hrs on my stay there. Most days sun will set at around 5pm or slightly early.

May I know after the sunsets, what activities can i do?

Your advises and recommendations are highly appreciated!!

    Thanks

    Shane

Switserland is not a country with a lot of night activities. After dark the most people go to home or hotel to eat and trink. When it is cold and dark, you see not many people on the streets in Grindelwald, and also in the larger city’s as Lucerne.
