How to travel to Jungfraujoch and Grindelwald in 1 day from Interlaken

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is visiting Interlaken with their family and has a Swiss Half Fare card. They need advice on how to purchase train tickets and plan trips to Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Mürren, Jungfraujoch, and Grindelwald during their stay.

Key takeaways:
  • You can buy a ticket to Lauterbrunnen and then purchase separate tickets for Wengen and Mürren.
  • For Jungfraujoch and Grindelwald, plan trips on different days since they are in different parts of the valley.
  • Consider using the Swiss timetable to efficiently plan your journeys between destinations.

    Hello,

We are staying in Interlaken and we have Swiss Half Fare card and family card for the kids. I am little confused how this should work.

I was advised in this forum to visit Lauterbrunnen and Wengen / Murren on one day and Jungfraujoch and Grindelwald on one day.

From Interlaken can I buy train ticket till Wengen / Murren or till Lauterbrunnen and then buy train ticket separately for Wengen / Murren?

For Jungfraujoch top of the world and Grindelwald Cliff walk how do I plan from Interlaken? The route for Jungfraujoch top of the world is from Interlaken as well as Grindelwald.

    Thank you!

    Hi Debsrc,

Yes, the Jungfrau region is divided into ‘two’, so you are probably best to visit Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Mürren on one day (they are all located on one side) and then Grindelwald another day as Grindelwald is located on the other side of the ‘valley’.

Yes, you can buy a ticket per your description.  There are some online options to purchase your tickets in the below link, in case you needed any:

The below links should help for your trip to Jungfraujoch and Grindelwald First, where the Cliff Walk is:

Use the Swiss timetable to plan your journeys:

    Kind regards,
