Hi I was wondering if when you purchase the reservations through Happyrail for the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express do they immediately respond if the seats are available and do they assign a seat prior to running the payment?

    Hello,

    I have a few questions:

    1. If I purchase the Swiss travel pass or the Swiss half card, does this include a ticket to the glacier or Bernina Express? If so, do I just need to make a reservation?

    2. If I want to buy the promotion of the Swiss travel pass with admission to Jungfraujoch, do I buy the Swiss travel pass for 232 CHF AND the Jungfraujoch pass for 176 CHF or does the promotion of 232 include the Jungfraujoch pass?

    3. If the answer to number 2 is that I have to buy each separately, It seems the promotion give a a seat reservation and a digital coupon pass. Is a seat reservation even needed and what does the coupon pass include?

Hello Aaacosta and welcome to MySwissAlps,

You really should start a new thread to get better exposure to your range of questions.

    Briefly:

    1. You still need a reservations with either. You don’t need a ticket if you have a Swiss Travel Pass but you need a half-fare ticket with the other option.

    2.You have to buy both.

    3. Correct. Seat reservations are not essential. The coupon booklet is of little value to most people. See http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/swiss-coupon-book.

    Hi Aacosta 28,

    As for your questions:

    1. You correctly say that you would only need to purchase the reservation for the Bernina Express if you hold a Swiss Travel Pass.

Holders of a Swiss Half Fare card get a reduced price for it.

    2. As for the promotion, you will need to buy a Swiss Travel Pass and a TICKET to the Jungfraujoch, NOT the Jungfrau Travel Pass!!

Check Arno’s original thread here for details:

    3. Correct. The promotion offers a free seat reservation and a Swiss Coupon Pass. Rockoysters link provides you with information.

    Best,
    Steph
