Schilthorn and Trummelbach Falls in a round trip

Short summary – read this first

Melissa is planning a three-night stay in Wengen at the end of September and is looking for advice on a one-day trip to Schilthorn and Trummelbach Falls. She wants to know the best route to take and whether Trummelbach Falls is safe for her 4-year-old daughter. Melissa will be using the Swiss Travel Pass for transportation during this trip.

Key takeaways:
  • Start your day by visiting Schilthorn first to make the most of your time there.
  • Trummelbach Falls has an age limit, so ensure you have an ID for your 4-year-old to prove her age.
  • Check the official Trummelbach Falls website for specific safety information regarding children.
  • Utilize the Swiss Travel Pass for convenient transport options throughout your trip.

    Hi there,

We will be staying in Wengen for 3 nights late Sept and plan to do a one-day trip to Schilthorn and Trummelbach Falls. Could anyone please suggest the best round trip (and transport) for me to cover the following places? In which direction should i start first to maximise our time there? We will be having the Swiss Travel Pass.

    a) Schilthorn

    b) Flower Trail from Allmendhubel to Murren

    c) Trummelbach Falls

We will be traveling with a 4-year old. Is Trummelbach Falls too slippery for a toddler?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,

    Melissa

    Hi Melissa-

don’t have time for a full answer right now, but this map will give you a start on understanding the route:

    map.search.ch/?pos=637120,158560&z=32 &poi=bergbahn,zug

You can do it in either direction, but I’d start with te stunning part- Schilthorn, et al. You’ll want to have more time there.

Use this for timing of transport:

Trummelbach may have an age limit.

Need to look up their website.

    Hi Melissa,

Slowpoke has right, due to security reasons children of the age below 4 years are not allowed to enter the Trummelbach Falls. If your toddler is already 4 years old that cannot be a problem, just make sure you have an ID with you as proof of the birthday.
