I will be heading up to Mt. Pilatus from Luzern in Sep. and thinking about doing the Tobbogan ride when coming down the cable car (i.e. stopping at the Fraketemegg station). Question – are advanced tickets and/or reservations required for this ride? Or do I simply show up, wait in line and buy the ticket there?

    Hi Johnny4111,

For the Fräkigaudi toboggan ride, where you alight at Fräkmüntegg. Yes, essentially you would show up and queue to enjoy the ride.

Additional Pilatus information can be found here: https://www.myswissalps.com/pilatus

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda

Just get off the cable car, and walk up the hill. You buy the ticket at the vending machine up there, and wait in line. There are lockers to store your items, and the shop offers a cell phone carrier so you can record. We just did it yesterday, and it was so much fun.

How busy was it? How long a wait? What time of day?

my family will be there in 2 weeks, and we’re looking forward to the ride.

We were there around 3:45pm. The line was not long, about 10 minute wait after getting tickets. 9CHF adult, 7 CHF kids/youth. Locker storage was free, the rental for the cell phone chest strap was free, but they hold your credit card as collateral.
