Soft copy Swiss Travel Pass & hiking with stroller

Short summary – read this first

Shamik and his family are visiting Switzerland in August and plan to buy an 8-day Swiss Travel Pass. They need to know if a hard copy of the pass is mandatory, whether the Mannliche - Kleine Scheidegg hike is stroller-friendly, and if baby strollers are allowed on boat rides in Interlaken, along with life vest availability.

Key takeaways:
  • You must carry a hard copy of the Swiss Travel Pass since it is mandatory.
  • The Mannliche - Kleine Scheidegg hike is easy, but consider using a baby carrier for better access on trails.
  • Baby strollers are generally allowed on the boats in Interlaken; a foldable stroller is recommended for convenience.

    Hello,

Back to this wonderful forum for some more questions. I understand my questions are of two/three entirely different topics so please feel free to let me know if I need to post different threads.

    1. We (me, my wife and our 2.5 yrs old daughter) will be visiting Switzerland in August and we will buy the 8 day STP. I know we are expected to take a printout of the pass and carry the hard copy with us. Is there an option to carry a soft copy with us instead of the hard copy or is a hard copy mandatory?

    2. While in the BO area we are planning to do the Mannliche – Kleine Scheidegg hike. Is this baby stroller friendly?

    3. Also, while in Interlaken we will do some boat rides on the two lakes. Do they allow baby strollers on the boats?

    4. Do they have life vests on the above (point 3) boats?

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards

    Shamik

    Hi Shamik,

Good here you like our website!

    1. The hard copy (that you print yourself) is mandatory. In reality the soft copy you can store on your phone is nearly always sufficient. Please find more information and purchase options here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price.

    2. It is an easy hike but I am not sure if a stroller would work. Perhaps someone else here knows, or else you can check with the tourist office for options. A baby carrier allows you to hike on many more trails. This hike should be fine with a stroller: http://www.myswissalps.com/hi king/gruetschalp-muerren.

    3. Yes, no problem. A fold-able stroller is always more convenient though. Not sure if there are still strollers that can’t be folded 🙂

    4. I suppose so but I’m not sure.
