Is Summer Trial GA best pass for Lucerne, Wengen, Zurich in June?
A traveler is flying into Zurich this June for a 9-night trip, spending 3 nights in Luzern, 4 nights in Wengen, and 2 nights back in Zurich. They need advice on train passes for visiting popular spots like Pilatus, Schilthorn, and Matterhorn, and are feeling overwhelmed with the options available.
- Consider purchasing an 8-day Swiss Travel Pass, as it allows unlimited train travel and discounts on mountain transport.
- The Summer Trial GA Travelcard is not available for tourists; stick with the Swiss Travel Pass for your trip.

We are flying into Zurich in June for 9-nights. We are travelling to Luzern for 3-nights, Wengen for 4-nights and Zurich for 2-nights and then back to Zurich to fly out. We plan to visit Pilatus, Schilthorn, Grindelwald-first, Gornergrat, Matterhorn. We also plan to visit Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, gimmelwald and do several hikes within these areas. We are still trying to understand which train pass to purchase. We have been reviewing various forums to help us but is a bit overwhelming as train travelling is not typical where we live in Canada. Has anyone thought about or purchased this new offer “Summer Trial GA Travelcard” from sbb.ch? or have any other recommendations? Any insight is appreciated.
