I bought a 15-day Swiss Travel Pass Flex with a commencement day on 7 Oct till 6 Nov when purchased. My revised plan has changed the 1st day of use to 8 Oct. Will the pass be automatically activate my pass on 7 Oct regardless or I can activate the card myself starting from whatever day I want (ie 8 Oct)?

Instructions can be found here:
http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpassflex/howtouse
Look for the FAQ about the Swiss Travel Pass Flex and follow the links to the instructions ‘how to activate your pass’ and validating days
You will find this text:
How does the Swiss Travel Pass Flex work?
Your selected travel dates must be activated under http://www.activateyourpass.com. For each activated travel date, you receive a valid ticket for the day.
You can find instructions to activate your pass here.
Do I have to print the ticket for the Swiss Travel Pass Flex?
No, there is no need to print it. It can be shown on your mobile phone.
Can I change travel tickets on the travel day?
Each travel day must be activated the latest before travelling. An activated ticket cannot be
changed anymore on the travel date.

KhsamuelParticipant14 posts5 October 2022 at 12:59:18 #947582Thanks heaps.
Thank you 1960man and Trainliner for the clarification.
I was in the http://www.activateyourpass.com and was able to activate/deactivate. Since Klook (https://klook.com/jump/activity/9871-swiss-travel-flexible-rail-pass) mentioned automatic activation (I assume on 7 Oct) in their email, so I need to clarify.
Thanks again.

KhsamuelParticipant14 posts5 October 2022 at 15:40:09 #947584Thanks Ildiko. Will do.
I will stay 3 days in major base points including Lucerne, Lugano and Interlaken. Will these hotels/tourist authorities provide free or discounted public transportation to move around? Caused I might not activate my STP flex pass on those days.
Sorry for posting question indirectly related to my original post.
Thanks in advance.

You will receive a free Visitor Card when you check into your hotel or apartment in Lucerne. The card gets you discounts on local attractions and free traveling in and around town. Note, that the validity area of this card is very limited. Learn more about how to get around in Lucerne: http://www.myswissalps.com/lucerne/travel.
Hotels in Lugano will provide you with a Ticino Ticket, offering a lot of transportation either for free or discounted. This has a better validity area, you can find more details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/lugano/travel.
Regarding Interlaken, hotels will provide a free guest card to their guests, which allows free traveling by all modes of transport in the immediate surroundings of the town. Note that this applies to a small area. Please, find the details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/interlaken/travel.
Please, let me know if you have further questions,
Ildiko

In your case, it is likely that it will be just as easy to walk in many cases if you are sticking to the immediate town area. However in Interlaken you wouldn’t see much if you were as restricted as that as it is really quite a small town. Same in Luzern. Most of the ‘famous tourists attractions within the city area are within walking distance of one another (an exception would be the Verkehrshaus transport museum where the bus or train is a useful time saver)
