Tell Pass vs Swiss Travel Pass 5 days Lucerne
A traveler named Specky48 is planning a 6-day trip to Switzerland in July with his wife. They will spend one day in Zurich and then five days in Lucerne, asking for advice on whether to buy a 24-hour Zurich all zones pass plus a Tell Pass or the Swiss Travel Pass to make their trip more economical. They're specifically confused about the cost benefits related to excursions like Jungfraujoch and Titlis.
- Compare the total ticket prices for your planned trips before choosing a pass.
- The Tell Pass covers the Lucerne area well but doesn't include excursions in other regions like Jungfraujoch.
- For more extensive travel across regions, consider the Swiss Travel Pass.
- The Tell Pass offers better value as it includes free lifts and panoramic trains, making it ideal for your itinerary.
- Many travelers suggest focusing on one area to fully enjoy it, especially if you're trying to avoid a hectic schedule.

Hi everyone. Thank you for the wonderful posts on this forum . My wife and I (both seniors)will be traveling to Switzerland for 6 days in July . We will arrive at Zurich and spend one whole day and move to Lucerne for the next 5 days . I was thinking of buying the 24 H Zurich all zones pass for the first day and the Tell pass for the remaining 5 days . Titles and Pilatus are totally free and so are some panoramic trains . However, With this I understand we will get no discount for Jungfraujoch. Will some experts on this forum put an end to my confusion and tell me whether this combination will be better and more economical than the STP . With the latter I will have to pay for Totlis, Pilatus and get 25%off on Jungfraujoch . Thank you very much for coming to my aid and helping me with your expert advice . Cheers !
