Ticket price for train from Colmar to Basel

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Uallin is planning a trip to Interlaken and needs to know the cost of a train ticket from Colmar, France to Basel, which they found online for CHF 18. They're curious if the price will be the same if they buy the ticket at Colmar Station.

Key takeaways:
  • The online price for the train ticket is the same as at the station, so you can buy it either way.
  • Book your train tickets in advance to avoid price spikes, as they can vary significantly.
  • If you receive a 'not available' message when booking, try again closer to your departure date for better results.

Not sure if it’s appropriate to ask this here.. But does anyone know what is the cost of train ticket from Colmar France to Basel? We are actually heading for Interlaken but changing at Basel. Checked SBB site and is CHF18. Wonder if it is the same price if we were to buy at Colmar Station?

    Hello,

The attached screen capture (from http://www.trainline.eu) might be of use to you. Note the great variance in prices, from as low as 7 Euros to as high as 60 Euros, so follow their advice and book ahead !

    Hi Uallin,

That “not available” message is probably because you’re trying to book long in advance. If that’s indeed the case, you’d better try closer to your departure date. Two months before it should work fine.
