Jungfrau Travel Pass: Pfingstegg or Heimwehfluh toboggan run

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Sanjeev is planning to visit Interlaken in the first week of September 2025. He wants to try the toboggan run at Pfingstegg and needs guidance on the route and costs from Grindelwald using his 3-day Jungfrau Travel Pass. He's also curious about the Heimwehfluh toboggan option and if it's as good as Pfingstegg.

Key takeaways:
  • The Jungfrau Travel Pass does not cover the cable car ride to Pfingstegg, which costs CHF 20 one-way, with discounts available if you have certain passes.
  • You can reach the Pfingstegg station using the free Bus No. 122 with the Jungfrau Travel Pass.
  • Heimwehfluh is located near the Interlaken West train station, but Pfingstegg offers a longer run and more activities.

I will be in Interlaken in the first week of Septmber 2025 – and would like to do atleast one Toboggan  run. I will be buying a 3 days Jungfrau Travel Pass and I also have Saver Day Pass on on the 4th day. I will be staying at Interlaken.

I find Pfingstegg is not included in JTP.  Please guide the route and cost of visiting Pfingstegg Toboggan from Grindelwald with an Jungfrau Travel Pass.

Also I find there is another at Heimwehfluh Interlaken. Not sure if this route is included and also if this is equally good experience in comparison with Pfingstegg Toboggan.

    Thanks for the replies.

    Hi Sanjeev,

The Jungfrau Travel Pass (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/jungfrau-travel-pass/) does not provide any discount on the cable car ticket to Pfingstegg or the historical funicular ticket to Heimwehfluh.

You can find further information about Pfingstegg here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/pfingstegg/

To compare, Pfingstegg has a much higher elevation than Heimwehfluh, and the toboggan run is longer. Pfingstegg is located in Grindelwald, meanwhile Heimwehfluh is near the Interlaken West train station.

Pfingstegg also offers other activities in addition to the toboggan run.

    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Anna

    Hello Anna,

Thanks for your replies and links.

    I got this in Pfingsteggbahn

    • “Grindelwald” for the train station of Grindelwald
    • “Grindelwald, Bahnhof” for the bus stop at the Grindelwald train station
    • “Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn” for the bus stop close to the cable car valley station
    • “Grindelwald (Pfingsteggbahn)” for the cable car valley station
    • “Pfingstegg” for the actual destination: the cable car mountain station

WhenI enter the following on the SBB app…….

    • “Grindelwald, Bahnhof” for the bus stop at the Grindelwald train station
    • “Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn” for the bus stop close to the cable car valley station

……..I get Bus No 122. This bus looks to be free as per the Jungfrau Travel Pass validity map or CHF 4.4 (without half fare Card).

Grindelwald, Pfingsteggbahn – is it not the place where toboggan starts?  Am I missing something? Or please let me know how much this will cost from Grindelwald, JTP is not valid.
    Any link for Heimwehfluh?

Thanks again for your time and replies.

    Hi Sanjeev,

Correct, the 122 bus would be covered with a Jungfrau Travel Pass to reach the Pfinstegg cable car station.  The cable car ride to the top, to enjoy the toboggan run is not included.  The price for a ride to the top is 20 chf, one-way.  If you had the Jungfrau Travel Pass, it would be discounted and you would pay 17 chf, one-way.  If you had the Swiss Half Fare Card (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-half-fare-card/) or Swiss Travel Pass (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/), the price is 10 chf, one-way.

    Try heimwehfluh.ch

    Kind regards,
    Yolanda
