Top of Europe Pass and Jungfrau Travel Pass

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a trip to the Jungfrau Region from July 1 to July 5 and needs advice on choosing between the Top of Europe Pass and the Jungfrau Travel Pass. They have already purchased the Half Fare Card and want to understand the differences between the two passes, such as trips included and validity for transport.

Key takeaways:
  • The Top of Europe Pass includes a round trip to Jungfraujoch but does not cover Schilthorn or boats on Lakes Thun and Brienz.
  • You can use the Swiss Half Fare Card for discounts on Schilthorn trips.
  • The Top of Europe Pass is valid only for consecutive days.
  • Public transport in Interlaken is not included with the Top of Europe Pass.
  • The Top of Europe Pass allows unlimited rides on selected mountain transport within its area.

    Hello

I’m planning to visit jungfrau Region from 01/July to 05/July

I purchased Half Fare Card already

All my staing in all days will be in Grindelwald

Now I’m looking to buy jungfrau pass but i need to know what’s the difference betwen :

TOP OF EUROPE PASS ( not found in your website)

    http://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/top-of-europe-pass/

    JUNGFRAU TRAVEL PASS

    http://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfrau-travel-pass/

As i understand the TOP OF EUROPE PASS will include one free round trip to Eiger Glacier but not include boats trip in thune or brinz lakes

In another hand JUNGFRAU TRAVEL PASS not have Eiger Glacier trip only discount but boats trip included ..

    First question:

1-Is my understanding above correct ? And this is the only difference?

Cuz i want to go with TOP OF EUROPE PASS as I’m not interested in boats trip or i can use my Half Fare Card or choose monday day for discount 🤠also the price 159 CHF and JUNGFRAU TRAVEL PASS 145 CHF

2- what about Schilthorn trip ? included in TOP OF EUROPE PASS?and what’s this trip ?

3- busses in Grindelwald they mention its not included and this is ok for me as the hotel will offer card for me but what about Interlaken Busses is it included?

4-i want to choose 3 days in TOP OF EUROPE PASS can i choose the days for example day 1 01/07 and day 2 on 3/07 and day 3 05/07 ??

5- if i buy TOP OF EUROPE PASS is that mean that i can use unlimited train ride in the region of Jungfrau?also cable car or gandola?

    What is ur advice ?

    Best Regards💖

    HI Memok,

    1. Your understanding is correct. The Top of Europe Pass includes one trip to Jungfraujoch, but won’t be valid on for free or discounted travel to Schilthorn and boats on Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

    2. Schilthorn is not included in the the Top of Europe Pass. But if you have the Swiss Half Fare Card (https://www.myswissalps.com/swisshalffarecard, you can use that to get discounted tickets at the counter. More information about Schilthorn here: http://www.myswissalps.com/schilthorn

    3. Based on the validity map, the Top of Europe Pass does not include public transport in Interlaken.

    4. The Top of Europe Pass is only available for consecutive days.

    5. Only on selected mountain transportation and within the validity area.

If your plans are fixed and focused only this small area, I think getting the Top of Europe Pass is a sensible choice.

    Regards,

    Anna
