Train from Freiburg (Breisgau) to Wengen
-
Hi All,
I am looking to go from Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany to Wengen, Switzerland.
I found a train for 19,90 EUR using http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/germany/pri ce and clicked to http://www.bahn.com.
I searched departing Freiburg(Breisgau) Hbf and arriving at Wengen(CH).
- Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf to Basel SBB
- 5 minute transfer time
- Basel SBB to Interlaken Ost
- 8 minute transfer time
- Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen
- 12 minute transfer time
- Lauterbrunnen to Wengen
Can someone help tell me:
1. Are these the right train stations? I’m 95% sure they are.
2. Does http://www.bahn.com give me all the tickets to get to Wengen? Do I need to buy anything extra when I cross into Switzerland to take Swiss trains to get to Wengen?
3. Do I need to go through customs or immigration when entering Switzerland?
4. Are the transfer times enough for me to get from one platform to another and go through any immigration/customs?
This seems the cheapest option for me on my inbound trip. I will be staying for 6 days total. I’ll spend the day I get to Wengen to explore the town. I then plan to buy a Jungfrau Travel Pass for the next 4 days as I travel around Interlaken area. Finally I hope to get a Supersaver ticket to go from Wengen to Zurich airport on my last day. Does this seem like the cheapest plan?
