Hubby and I with our 20 month old are going to be based in Basel for 5 days, we plan on visiting 4 cities:

    D 1 : Lorrach, Ger

    D 2: Lucerne

    D 3: Strasbourg, France

    D 4: Zurich

    D 5: Head home (UK)

We’re not sure on what train tickets to get and we will have a small stroller. We know we’ll be spending full days in the cities on days 2, 3, and 4, but won’t be venturing too far out of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks

Hi Kattified, thanks for joining us!

Just buying point to point tickets will work fine here; a pass won’t be worth it. However, it’s important to know which exact day trips you have in mind in Switzerland. If you stay within the cities, the above applies. If you include two or more mountain trips (there are nice ones near Lucerne), a Swiss Half Fare Card might be worth it as it gets you 50% off these relatively expensive tickets, and off all the trains and boats in Switzerland too.

    Thanks Arno

Decided to just do Super saver tickets for the Swiss cities and a Basel Pass.
