Hello! If we purchased the 3 day Swiss travel pass do we need to reserve tickets for our train from Lauterbrunnen to Domodossola? Or do we just hop on when we get to the station? I was told the Swiss travel pass gets you free transportation to Domodossola from Switzerland and you don’t need to reserve tickets while in the country.

    Thank you!

    Hello Jennar,

You can indeed just hop on the train at Lauterbrunnen and head to Domodossola. No reservations are required. I presume you are continuing on to somewhere in Italy so you can use the SBB Timetable (bit.ly/2HH1U7B) to plan the entire journey and ensure you arrive to connect with, or continue on, your train from Domodossola.

Are you familiar with http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/italy?

If you go via Kandersteg to Brig you will travel on the Regio-Express Lötschberger train over the traditional, more than 100 year old mountain route, giving you a wonderful view along the impressive peaks and down into the Rhone Valley. Without via Kandersteg the timetable will route you via Visp and you’ll experience the 6th longest tunnel in the world (in length) – the Lötschberger Base Tunnel.

Tickets for Swiss trains never “sell out”. But with a Swiss Travel Pass you don’t need to purchase a ticket. The pass is your “ticket”.
