We will be travelling by train from Geneva to Lauterbrunnen in July. While at Lauterbrunnen (staying for 3 nights) we will be exploring the area including Interlaken and Jungfrau. We would like to see as much of the area as possible. From Lauterbrunnen we are travelling back to Geneva. Please advise the best pass to purchase and which trains to take from Geneva to Lauterbrunnen

Thank you for posting! At first glance either the 4-day Swiss Travel Pass or the Swiss Half Fare Card fits your needs. However, it’s best to first create a list of day trips you intend to do, and pick a pass based on your complete travel plan. Details on how to do so are here. As you say “see as much of the area as possible”, the Swiss Travel Pass is the better one of the two suggested passes. It does not require to buy tickets all the time, and also includes the lake boats for example.

Train schedules can be found in the timetable. I recommend to travel via Montreux and Zweisimmen (Golden Pass line) at least once for good scenery.

The Golden Pass line is a very good choice!

If you buy the Swiss Travel Pass travel on the “LaSuisse” boat is included. The “LaSuisse” from Montreux to Lausanne is a nice break from train travel and Lausanne is a nice place to spend the night before going on to Geneva.
