Scenic 2 to 4 hour train trip Lucerne to Zurich
Lcrecelius11 is planning a scenic train journey from Lucerne to Zurich with a group of six, leaving on a Wednesday afternoon. They want to avoid the direct route and have a Swiss Travel Pass, looking for an enjoyable trip that lasts 2-4 hours before their flight to the US on Thursday.
- Consider taking the Voralpen Express to St. Gallen, then change for Zurich to enjoy beautiful rolling hills views along the ride.
- For a more panoramic experience, you can travel via boat and train to the top of Rigi before heading down to Arth-Goldau for Zurich, though it's more complicated with luggage.
- All suggested routes are free with a Swiss Travel Pass, so make sure to take advantage of that.

Is there any suggestions on a scenic train route from Lucerne to Zurich other than the most direct route that would be suggested by google etc. There will be 6 of us leaving Lucerne on a Wednesday morning/afternoon traveling to Zurich and staying there Wednesday night to take our flight back to US on Thursday. (traveling with luggage). So any trip that may take 2-4 hours or so on Wednesday should be fine. We will have a Swiss Travel Pass. The trip will be at the end of this month.
thank you
