Use Travellers WIFI with our own SIM card?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning to rent a Travelers Wifi during their stay in Lucerne and Zurich. They want to know if they can use their existing SIM card without activating roaming or if they should get a prepaid card to make the pocket wifi useful while traveling. It's a great question for anyone looking to stay connected during their trip.

Key takeaways:
  • You can connect to Travelers Wifi even without a SIM card in your phone.
  • Using your existing SIM card is perfectly fine for accessing the pocket wifi.
  • If you prefer to use a local prepaid card, options like Telco Salt are available for connectivity.

    Hi,

Planning to rent the travellers wifi throught our stay in lucerne/zurich, can i use our own sim card (no activation of roaming) and connect our device to the pocket wifi? or should i get a prepaid card from telco salt or others so that the pocket wifi can be used when we are travelling around?

sorry if the question sound silly. 🙂

    Hi Melle,

Which SIM card you have does not matter. Even without a SIM card your phone can connect to the TravelersWifi and access the internet. So you can keep the card that you have.
