    Correct.

Buying a Swiss Travel Pass in Basel from the travel centre in Basel SBB is not difficult, and as you say will save the worry.

Then just board the next available train towards Interlaken.

Direct trains to Interlaken depart Basel every 30 minutes at xx.04 and xx.34 past each hour – a better timetable than many bus services in other countries!

Sit on the left side of the train in the direction of travel so that when you get to Lake Thun (Thunersee) you will see the lake as you travel thence to Interlaken

The easiest way to plan for Switzerland

Hi Zairy and welcome to MySwissAlps!

I think the easiest option would be to buy your Swiss Travel Pass online. http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price

That way you can have it emailed to you and printed at home (no need to go to the office in Basel and wait for help; and you’ll have an electronic back up in case you lose it).

For all train schedules/departures/connections you can use the Swiss railways timetable here: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable
