Visit Lindt Museum from Lucerne or whilst in Zurich?

Short summary – read this first

Chami and family are planning a one-week trip to Switzerland, mainly based in Lucerne, with a day trip to Zurich. They want to know whether to visit the Lindt Museum during their Zurich day or on a separate day from Lucerne. It's great they're eager to explore more of Switzerland!

Key takeaways:
  • Combine your visit to the Lindt Museum with your day in Zurich to save time.
  • If interested in a chocolate tour at the Lindt Museum, book it in advance as spots fill up quickly.
  • Consider checking out Aeschbach Chocolatier in Root for a less crowded alternative to the Lindt Museum.

    Hello.

My family is planning to stay at Switzerland for 1 week and we want to go to the Lindt Museum. We are mainly staying at Lucerne but we are having a one day trip to Zurich. I was wondering if it’s best to visit the Museum during our one day trip to Zurich or a seperate day but from Lucerne.

We want explore Swizterland as much as we can.

    Thank you

    Hi Chami,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

I would probably combine the visit to the Lindt museum on the day you are already visiting Zurich.  That said, Lucerne is not too far from Zurich so you could easily visit on another day if you were busy on the day you are visiting Zurich.

You can plan and gauge journey times with the Swiss timetable:  https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/public-transport/timetable/

If wanting to participate in the chocolate tour, I would book this as soon as you can.  It’s very popular at the moment and some days are already booked out.  Scroll to “The best Swiss chocolate museums and factories” in the below link:

    Kind regards,

Chami: have you considered visiting Aeschbach Chocolatier in Root instead of the Lindt Museum? Just providing information for a possibly less popular/crowded location. Have a fantastic trip.
